Welcome to the 2011-12 school year! As your new superintendent, I am honored and excited to be a part of the Eastern “Tradition of Excellence” and a resident of the local school district.

 We strive to make our website user-friendly and will provide updates throughout the school year. We encourage you to register with us to receive electronic newsletters and updates (see e-communication link on left side). Eastern alumni are invited to register with us using the Eastern Alumni link (lower left side).

 Our district has a tradition of pride and excellence, reflected in the academic achievement of our students. Two of our buildings (high school and Sardinia Elementary) have earned the Ohio Department of Education’s rating of Excellent, with the other two campuses earning an Effective rating. As a district, we achieved 23 of the 26 state indicators. We strive to not only maintain that level of excellence, but to also take the district to the next level.

 Recently, we have finished two new buildings (high school and Sardinia Elementary), one building renovation (Russellville Elementary), and now we are nearing completion of the new middle school.

 During these tough financial times, our Board of Education will continue to remain fiscally responsible and responsive to the community, while providing quality academic and extra curricular programs for our students.
