2011-12 School Year
Russellville Elementary opened its doors to the 2011-2012 school year with
314 students enrolled in grades K-5. Preschool has an enrollment of 27 students.
We are very excited about this new year for learning. We have initiated a school wide building theme –“We’re Wild About Learning!” Our jungle theme is in evidence throughout the building. Teachers have helped create a jungle habitat by decorating their doors and rooms with specific animals, insects, reptiles, or combinations of these.
Each weekday has been designated a specific title: Monkey Monday, Toucan Tuesday, Wonderful Wednesday, Tiger Thursday, and Froggy Friday. The students are greeted each day by their teachers, aides, and principal with a greeting that goes along with the day’s title.
Our school goal is to improve behavior, problem solving, and reading. Students will be setting personal goals and teachers will be setting classroom goals.
Meeting personal and classroom goals will be celebrated in a variety of ways in the classroom.
Additionally, the staff has re-written our mission statement. “Working together and doing our best, that’s the way we achieve success”. It has been a successful week and we look forward to a successful year.
